Rihanna and rapper Ludacris have been added to ABC's "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve 2007." Both acts will perform at Nokia Theatre Times Square in New York. In the meantime, Nas and Ciara are on the roster for "MTV Goes Gold: New Year's Eve 2007." The show airs live December 31 at 11 p.m. ET, with a tape delay on the West Coast. And last but not least, Ruben Studdard is playing a free New Year's Eve show in Hawaii. The Honolulu Symphony will join the "American Idol" winner for the event, dubbed Gospel Goes Classic. Ahmet Ertegun, co-founder and longstanding chairman of Atlantic Records and the man who helped introduce the world to Ray Charles, Led Zeppelin and countless others, died Thursday (December 14) of a brain injury. He was 83. The mogul born into the wealthy family of a Turkish ambassador never retired and was attending a New York concert by the Rolling Stones (one of the many bands he signed) on October 29 when he fell and incurred the injury.
Cool's the word for Roddick and Moore
HOLLYWOOD, Fla., Dec. 11 They split in 2004 after dating for a year, but Andy Roddick told guests at a casino in Hollywood, Fla., he and his ex Mandy Moore are cool.Moore, 22, appeared Friday night at the first annual Charity Celebrity Poker Tournament at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino to lend star support. Roddick hosted the event. .

Poplet Mandy Moore is on the verge of releasing her brand new album 'Wild Hope' which will be her fifth studio album. Mandy says that the album will take a different, more folky tone as opposed to her early fizzy, pop-drenched offerings, such as her hit "Candy"."I love the music I love, and I wanted to make an organic, fresh, live-sounding pop record unlike what's out there now," says Mandy of the album. So what about the lyrics? Are any of them about her very high profile split with actor boyfriend Zac Braff?"People will take what they want to take from the lyrics. I don't live my life too much in the public eye, relatively speaking, so I can escape a little bit of that scrutiny. But it is a personal record and it's my first songwriting stab at things, so the lyrics are about what's been going on in my life the last two years, and how I feel about life and love and figuring out who I am and where I fit in.
